I lived in rural South Texas for like two years. Overall it was not a bad experience. The locals didn't exhibit any hostility towards outsiders, on the contrary they were pretty friendly, but they did tend to keep their distance. Personally I have never gone farther than making meaningless small talk with local residents at a post office or a grocery store.

Hell I love the country. I look forward to getting away from the rat race and getting out where it is peaceful and quiet.

They change your tire, or offer a ride into the nearest town. Most people that live in rural areas don't give a crap what color a person is, they stop to help plain and simple... kind of sad that is such a foreign concept to you.

One or two people, sure, but FOURTEEN people?!! I would rather be defensive than gullible.

Perhaps you should just do us (former city people, now country folk) a favor and stay in your city, like a caged rat.
I think he is a city troll looking to "go at it" with a country troll.

Yeah, I wouldn't be bothered if a few people exited the car but if suddenly a troop is getting out and approaching me I would be very much concerned for my safety.

Yeah, but wouldn't that apply anywhere? He said it would bother him in the country, but I would think it would bother him in the city too, or at least it should...
Black kid, or white kid, on the side of the road anywhere with 14 people coming at him, should probably think about hightailing it.
