For comparison, what's the minority population of the entire US? In other words, which metro is most diverse, the most like the population of the whole?

Whites account for 60.2%,74.7% when Hispanics are included. So if Hispanics aren't included with the white population, than the minority population of our country is 39.8%.The Metro area that is the closest to those demographics is New York City

Ben Around is actually asking you two questions: Which area is more diverse, and Which area comes the closest to replicating the diversity of the entire population of the nation. I know you were just dying to type 'New York' for the millionth time on one of your own threads, (it gets me excited too), but if New York has a minority percentage represented as only 39.8%, then it is not the most ethnically diversified city in the nation, ethnically speaking. Those percentages don't automatically state that but, in a way, they do.

Actually, I was just asking one question, which metro is most diverse? The measure of diversity I used was, *most reflective of the nation as a whole*. I understand there are more than one measure, I was just asking about this one.

Actually, in census 2000 Non Hispanic whites were 69.3 % of the U.S., now down to 66.? % (I don't remember esactly). The figure you gave is only for large metro areas, and not even most metros I believe. I do go to the U.S. census site frequently.

The most heavily minority metro in the country is Laredo Texas, 94.9% Hispanic in 2006, and has always been a majority Hispanic city since it founding in 1755. (but has grown rapidly sense world war two).

I guess someone needs to find out what the minority population of this nation is. But as far as what cities resemble America in ethnic population, I doubt that it would be any of those cities listed as all of those cities have high Black and/or Hispanic percentages, something that does not reflect this country. I believe the percentage of Black persons in the United States is only about 13%, believe it or not. (Most places it seems like 80%, lol. WE'RE EVERYWHERE!!)

Default your data is great

Hello,
I am developing an analysis of chronic disease states in minority poulations in cities in the northern part of of the US. I need to quantify the number of people in the minority populations of Chicago, New York, Detroit, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Cleveland. I have the current statistics for specific disease states per 100,000. Do you have any current data for minority populations in these cities?
Thank You for your time and assistance.

Steve Taylor
