in new york city all the housing projects that are in the Lower East Side are fillled with asians. I would say their are more Asians then blacks living in all of those high rises. But idk if i could call it a Asian ghetto because when people think of the ghetto in Lower East Side they usually think puerto rican/hispanic.

But if you actually visit the hood theirs a lot of asians in those projects.

I met a dude who was Hmong from Fresno, CA who then lived in North Minneapolis who said that Fresno was probably rougher than N. Minneapolis and is largely Hmong.
i remember their was a episode about st paul on gangland and it was about the asian hoodlife their.

brighton beach is considered a white russian ghetto to a good number of new yorkers. Bensonhurst can also have its hot years in crime. But overall these areas arent "no go" areas.

Post yes actually

yeah in southeren california. it is usually filled with low income hard working, poor people from asia. who came to start a new life in america. they usually hold the same ethics as many other asians, be respectful to parents, study hard, get a good job. however do to all the gang violence in LA their children usually get dragged into the same old vicious cycle, joining gangs, violnece etc. these children are usually very secretive to their parents about what they do. and they get dragged into the same cycle that low income foreigners do. also, about china town, in places like new york, there are ghettos in small places in the city, they are usually run by triads, these ghettos dont look like your average suburban southern CA ghettos, but rather like large buildings close together, these ghettos are usually more secretive but worse then those in southeren CA. how do i know this? -im asian

Little Saigon here in Orange County is kind of a sketchy area, I guess that would count.
Interestingly, I have Asian friends who grew up in Black neighbourhoods, and even have an ebonics accent.

I have been to Asia may times, and what we call "Asians" are so diverse in culture that they generally resent being referred to in that blanket way. When I was in China, a friend told me that the worst insult you can give to a person is to refer to him as a "Vietnamese". Even in the US. most Northeast Asians look down on Southeast Asians as poor, uncultured and generally more prone to crime. Among the Northeastern Asians, of course, you have the historical animosity between the Chinese and the Koreans on the one hand, and the Japanese on the other.

Most Chinese, Koreans and Japanese would be very offended if they are lumped together with the hoods from the video who are very obviously Southeast Asians (like Cambodians, Vietnamese, Laotian and Finipinos etc). But I am sure the Yakuzas (japanese), Triads and Tongs (Chinese) and Korean Mafia are just as bad....it's just that you don't usually see the Northeast Asian thugs trying to be "black".

I am not trying to offend anyone here; just recounting what I know and said to me.

Also. it seems there is a qualitative difference, for what it's worth, between street thugs/gangs like the ones in the video who commit petty crime and blight entire neighborhoods, and sophisticated crime syndicates like the Yakuza and the Triads, who are in the big money games (human trafficking, drug trafficking, illegal gambling on a huge scale, blackmail, extortion and political conspiracy/manipulation), and who generally function with the superficiality of high-end glitz and power.
