I'm not a fan of Kansas City, have relatives there and it never appealed to me. It just always seemed kind of dull.

How about Saint Louis? It fulfills much of the criteria including Whole Foods (two of them). Check out the westside towns of Kirkwood or Town and Country which are near the larger/nicer WF store.

I saw one or two people mention North Carolina, which might be a good suggestion; maybe even eastern Tennessee.

If you're looking for big city ammenities, then maybe you'd consider Atlanta. Although, considering that you're not fond of Dallasites, you might just be trading one evil for another.

I've heard such terrible things about St Louis...the economy, the crime, etc. People make it sound like Detroit The Revenge. I've only been through it once and that was a very long time ago so I would not know from personal experience...

I think this "Town and Country" place is a bit out of my tax bracket.

For some reason OKC and KCMO are very appealing to me.

I keep hearing that Tennessee is awesome, though. I've been to Memphis and Nashville, though it's been 15 years since I went to Memphis and much longer since Nashville.

A couple of people recommended cities in TN...anybody have any thoughts on those?

Thank God you're not vegan, or I'd have to suggest a cattle ranch.
