I think least pedestrian friendly areas should be known. Im not asking just about certain streets, I mean the city or state as a whole. Ones that have no pedestrian laws and that kind of stuff. Sounds like a fantasy doesn't it? Kinda like the "no look laws" for pedestrians in a lot of states.

The south and west tend to be more dangerous for pedestrians: Transportation For America » Dangerous by Design 2011 Most Dangerous Metro Areas. My theory is that since the cities near the top are car-centric, drivers are not accustomed to accommodating pedestrians.

Wow some of those cities are really high. The pedestrians must think there god or something! I would never want to live in new york or california.

I have some friends going to college in Greater Philly telling me some places like malls and such don't even have sidewalks!

Not asking for ped-friendly. Looking for places that don't have pedestrian laws and that sort. More vehicle friendly! Maybe I should change the topic to that instead.

Oh wow lol I mis read the title. As for least ped-friendly, I would assume most of SoCal and many other places in the US since it was built around the car.

Hey buddy no worries. It happens. Your right many places were designed for motor vehicles. The worst is the down town areas in a lot of cities, its often impossible to see around them, because they are set back from the road like what 3 to 5 feet? That's where most of the problems are with pedestrian issues, is down town areas.

Yeah I mean I haven't traveled in these areas but people tell me how urgent it is to have a car in places like SoCal. I mean I've only been to downtown DC, Philly, NYC and Boston and even though these cities are very walkable, it's even hard to tell who has right of way between the pedestrian and the driver. :/
