Movies are an art form at their highest so nit's individuals who make the best movies. Ang Li is from Taiwan, Akira Kurposawa was Japanese, John Huston was from the USA, Federico Felini was from Italy, Tartakoff was from Russia and Bergman from Sweden. These are the big names in film. Hollywood probably rates near the top for everyday entertainment. TV drama is big, we export a lot of it and I think that's the area where we excel but like Satchel Page said "Don't look back...somebody might be gaining on you." The Koreans have started to take aim at the TV market in a big way.

Baseball is a tough one. Somebody once said that if the Dominican Republic was as big as The US in land area there'd be nobody but Dominicans in the majors. Hyperbole but you get the idea. I don't understand why more Americans don't go into baseball.. I think after soccer it is the highest paid sport in the world.

Computers and technology were are at the top in most area some we share with East Asia. It's funny that Germany has fallen a bit behind in the past couple decades. Maybe just a temporary thing.

I don't think that's true.

World/Global Alcohol/Drink Consumption, 2010, Ireland and European Drink Price Comparisons : Finfacts Ireland

Alcohol consumption, litres per capita

Ireland: 14,2

USA: 8,2

(stats from year 2000)

List of countries by alcohol consumption - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ireland: 13,39

USA: 8,44

Current > Alcohol Consumption statistics - countries compared - NationMaster

Ireland: 13,5 litres per capita

USA: 8,3 litres per capita

These are all from different years I think, but America has some way to go before they outdrink the Irish thats for sure.

Better tasting food IMO, although the tradeoff is that we have the most obese population in the world as a result. In terms of pioneering, the U.S. was once great at that. We gave the world the automobile and the airplane. However, developments in aviation, rocket science, and automobiles was largely a result of help from the British, Germans, and Japanese. Most of the scientific and technological stuff we're great at now is usually because of help from other countries. Our interstate highway system might not exist if not for Germany.
