With Super Bowl time coming up once again, just thought I would get people's input as to their favorite Super Bowl host cities.

Of course, the usual suspects might be easiest--Miami, New Orleans, Los Angeles, but there have been some wild cards as host cities (for example, this year in Indianapolis.) And in two years, New York/New Jersey will be the first cold weather host with an outdoor stadium, which could work well or could be a disaster.

So I'd love to hear some discussion....Which place is your favorite, and why? And just for fun, if your favorite is one of the usual host cities, then what is your favorite "wild card" location?

Try to keep it positive, as all of those cities have some good things to offer, IMHO.

I think New Orleans is an excellent host city. My wild card is Charlotte. Okay, I'm biased being a Panthers fan but if Jacksonville gets a chance why not Charlotte?

If it's just for atmosphere, the obvious choice is New Orleans, and Miami would probably place (South Beach).

What would happen if someday a large enough stadium was built in Las Vegas?

Personally, I am bias towards the California cities.

The NFL would probably want to see how the New York Super Bowl goes before they award it to any more cold weather cities with an outdoor stadium.

Yes, I know Charlotte isn't really a "cold weather" city, but it's average high temperature in late January/early February is in the mid 50s, and the NFL rule (excluding the NY experiment) was for an outdoor venue, average temperature would have to be at least 60.

Weather aside, I don't understand the hype behind Miami as a host city. The stadium is practically in Fort Lauderdale and lies within a suspect area. The drive to South Beach takes forever in crappy traffic. Phoenix's stadium is in the middle of nowhere as well.

With a downtown stadium and the nightlife there, I can see New Orleans as being a top-notch host city. And while I'm clearly biased (note my location), I think Indy will prove a lot of doubters wrong.

New Orleans first, then Miami, although the stadium is stupidly placed too far from South Beach.

Phoenix's Super Bowl partying is in Scottsdale where it's 75 degrees in February. Party central in Scottsdale and an easy drive to UoP. No one cares that the stadium is in the middle of nowhere (which it really isn't) when they are hanging at the pool in Scottsdale all day.

For locals, the stadium is actually conviniently located--right on the Miami-Dade and Broward County line with easy access off the Florida Turnpike.

For tourists, the location isn't ideal, but then again, a stadium on Miami Beach would be a logistical nightmare of the first degree.

But like Phoenix, most people won't be staying around the stadium itself. They'll stay either downtown or on the beach and go over for the game.

And I don't think too many people will be staying on the New Jersey side when NY-NJ hosts the game.

It isn't about the locals though, was it not a traffic nightmare for SB44? I just don't think people should have to drive in horrendous traffic after the game, does Miami's Metrorail or Tri-Rail have direct access to the stadium?
