Just finished reading the book "How The States Got Their Shapes."
Awesome.

Wondering if any of you reading are good at photoshop like this dude was for NJ: http://i.imgur.com/Pwnf4.jpg

because
1) If possible, re-draw the US to have more logical state borders and boundaries. You do not have to have 50 states.

For instance, this is my take:
-I would leave Maine alone
-The CT river to Maine would be MA
-Everything from the Hudson to the CT River would be CT
-Manhattan/Long Island/Staten Island would be New York
-NJ would follow the DE river until it ends; then have a straight line to the Hudson River.
-The Rest of current "NY" would be it's own state called "Seneca or Mohawk"
-Florida would be divided between North and South OR I just may extend Alabama down all the way to the Gulf; Georgia would extend down into FL until it reached the Gulf, then straight line to the Atlantic
-the VA/NC border would be the actual 36 30
-this border would extend all the way to Nevada and serve as the line between KY/TN, MO/Ark/Kansas OK and so fourth
-OK would have no panhandle; Texas would just extend north
-NM would move the eastern border east until the extreme NE matched with Colorado to create another "Four States" border.
-CA would divide between North and South

Can someone map this; and if wanted; make your own new US map too.

Wow, I would have to be very descriptive. I wish there was some kind of interactive map that we could be creative with.

The internets is full of such maps.

It is easy to make such a map. Either draw a picture and scan it in, or create it yourself using a computer. You could make a map like this in paint.,
