There something about a huge sprawling freeway stack interchange with crossing flyovers to be marveled, impressive engineering and infrastructure. What are some of the most notable ones in the US? Also any interchanges proposed to be rebuilt?

My favorite is the Big I at the junction of I-40 and I-25 in Albuquerque, NM

No pics, but there's a doozy of a 4-level stack at the I-77 / I-465 interchange in southwest Charlotte.

It's only a few hundred feet north of the state line, and is wedged between a creek, a sprawling industrial park and a rest stop that also serves as a state welcome center (you hit the interchange as you are coming through the state line).

Thus they had to weave all the various ramps around a number of other things that couldn't be moved of disturbed, so lots of odd-shaped ramps and curved flyovers going on...

I love the Big I.

The T-REX interchange in Denver is pretty cool too:

"The Maze" in Oakland connecting several freeways/highways has got to be the worst. It connects 880, 980, 580, 80, CA-24, and so on. Layer after layer after layer of highway. From pix, it doesn't look as impressive though I assume.

It looks so big in the pictures I've seen.

Houston has so many. The big 7 is the one in Dallas, yes?

I believe you're thinking of the "High 5" in Dallas.

In Atlanta the largest as of now is the I-285/I-85 junction on the Northeast side, locally known as spaghetti junction.

Google the Marquette Interchange in Milwaukee. Largest public works project in Wisconsin state history when it was revamped a few years back, if I remember correctly. Don't remember the pricetag, either, but wanna say about a billion $.

Anyway, it's pretty darn impressive, if you're into interchanges...
