Toledo Ohio is only one hour from the nearest Canadian border, Erie Pennsylvania is one and a half hours from the nearest Canadian border.

While on US/Canada boundary lines and the oddities found there (and I believe I posted this about 200 pages back but is interesting in light of the above comments): The quickest auto route between the city limits of Buffalo and the city limits of Detroit lies entirely within Canada.

Right - touring bands commonly used that Buffalo-to-Detroit coridor frequently (even if they weren't playing Toronto) until it became more and more difficult to navigate the border, especially with band equipment/merch and so on.

Texarkana, TX is closer to the state capitals of Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Louisiana than its own state's capital Austin.
