The only double digit Interstate intersection in Ohio that isn't in or near any of the state's largest metropolitan areas is where Interstates 77 and 70 cross.
Anyone else find it odd that I 76 ends in the Cleveland metro? Like 80 simply eats up its purpose. Actually surprised 76 doesn't connect Pittsburgh to Columbus instead.

Where I-15 goes through Arizona, you are cutoff from the rest of the state by the Grand Canyon, to get to say Phoenix from there, you have to leave Arizona and re-enter further south
Also, US 395 goes through California twice, with a small section through Nevada around Carson City and Reno

These types of posts often makes me open up a map.
US 395 has been on my bucket list for a long time.
But all my N/S California trips are on or west of US101.
Being from Colorado it is hard to go to California and not stay near the ocean.
1. Pensacola Florida is further west than Indianapolis.
2. Part of Alabama obeys the Eastern time zone because it borders Columbus Georgia.
3. The richest county in the country borders West Virginia.
4. Atlanta is closer to Canada than it is to Mexico
5. The Appalachian mountains "technical" go from Eastern Mississippi to Norway.

How so on the Appalachian mountains? Some argue they don't even make it far into New York state.

Well the don't really call them mountains past NY, however it's technically part of the same chain. That chain runs up to Newfoundland. At one point Newfoundland was connected to Northern Europe. It is a bit of a stretch but in theory the hills you see in Ireland Scotland and Norway where once part of the Appalachian mountains.
Oo la .. I hadn't seen that dismissal about NYS. The Adirondacks are grander than the Laurentians, plus they bloody well hosted a winter olympics (twice?).
