But we're talking about states, not cities. I agree that West Coast cities (especially SF) tend to be less traditionally masculine than East Coast, Midwest, and Southern cities overall. However, Oregon and Washington as states (as well as the Central Valley of California) seem to have a high percentage of traditionally masculine men.

I would put rural Midwesterners (whether farmers or northwoods denizens) right there with the Mountain West, or even above. There's actually more farming in the Midwest than the South, despite stereotypes to the contrary.

Which state has the most masculine men?

Typically it's Pennsylvania, but this weekend I'm in Delaware.

That is correct. Most of the South is pine forests or deciduous forests.

The states with the most masculine men are those places where our Navy/Air Force fighter pilots are stationed/trained

Well, if we are going to play the game of offensive stereotyping, let me join in and recommend that one looks at states and metros where Donald Trump polls well with male voters. This is where you'll find the most "manly" men.
Ya know, I find it interesting how you properly profile straight and gay men. Of course I'm being sarcastic. Saying this about men tells me more about the woman who says it than it tells me about the men themselves.
