I do not like that particular organization at all, but as for Chicanos reclaiming indigenous Mexican heritage they're not all obnoxious and some seem to discredit them because of the bad press MM gets when not all are affiliated with them and some denounce that organization.

Natives in the US? Plenty of us got it fairly bad but there are worse, like Natives in Latin American in general and indigenous people in many third world nations.

Native Americans are pretty prevalent here in not just Durant, but in Oklahoma, especially the eastern half of Oklahoma. Overall, 9% of Oklahoma's population is Native American. Durant is also the capital of the Choctaw Nation and the culture is pretty lively here and across Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City and Tulsa also have the largest percentages of Native Americans among major cities, 3.5% and 5.3% respectively. Albuquerque also has a pretty sizable amount with 4.6% of the population being Native American.
I think Anchorage has like 10% Inuit and Aleut, and a lot of cities south of the border have much higher native populations to be nitpicky, but that is a lot in comparison to most American cities.
