Cleveland's vibrant, hip "Tremont" neighborhood offers a very popular "Art Walk & Festival" once a month, no matter what the weather conditions are. It's a terrific event that is attended by many.

New Orleans has several arts districts: Royal Street in the French Quarter, Julia Street in the Warehouse District, St. Claude in the Marigny/Bywater, Magazine Street (sort of) uptown. Each has their own styles of art. St. Claude has their art openings every second saturday of the month while the Warehouse Arts district openings around Julia is every first saturday. I'm not sure of the Royal Street or Magazine Street Galleries.

Along with monthly openings in NOLA there are also several BIG gallery opening parties like White Linen Night in the summer in the warehouse district. Thousands of people go dressed in white linen. it really is pretty awesome. Dirty Linen Night a couple weeks later in the french Quarter on Royal is just as packed but a little less snooty. There is also Art for Art's Sake in the Fall around Julia and Magazine streets. There's probably a bunch of others I'm missing but suffice to say people in NOLA like art and parties.

Just about any town of any size has something similar. It's hardly a unique concept.
