Heavenly place on paper for me would be a place surrounded by natural beauty but with enough city amenities as well. It is then upto the individual to decide whether it could be heaven for him/her or not!!

Right where I live: Austin, TX

It's got everything I need and want. Wonderful scenery, great weather, wonderful people, plenty of things to do and see, and reasonably close to other family members.

I'd go to this far away place that nobody really knows about yet, it's the best kept secret in the US. But I'm going to let you all in on it. The weather is near perfect year-round there too.

Southern California!

That was a good attempt, but I don't consider a place with a 6-digit population to be a "small town". I live in a city of comparable population right now and it has all of the problems you'd expect in a town that size... including congestion.

Median home cost of $149,800... especially added onto NY's famously high property tax rates... that, to me, isn't cheap. It'd be cheap at half that number.

According to City-Data, Amherst's cost of living index is 103.7, which is above the US average.

I'm more interested in places where, for much less than $100,000, I can get a decent-sized house (at least 1,000 square feet) on a huge piece of property in a secluded area.

Still looking for that place.

Someplace where the summers are not terribly hot the ideal place would have 4 seasons and not get brutally cold , cool is okay but not 0.

realistically i can deal with lows in the 30s (ideal)

I do not mind some cloudy days mixed in the weather either and really do not mind the rainy day.

a place that is not overly congested but still has amenities of a city
and public transportation with large public parks

a walkable community

*North Shore of Oahu (anytime)
*Mykonos, Greece during the summer
*Amsterdam (early spring or fall)
*Sedona, AZ during a light rain
*Quebec City during the Christmas season
*Oregon Coast during winter
*Lake Como, Italy (anytime)
