Like the title says, what are some cities that have snowy winters but are not gray/gloomy during winter? I love snow but I can't stand endless gloomy days during winter. Are there any places like this?

I'd say Boise, ID

Any of the Colorado front range cities, Denver, Colorado Springs or Pueblo.

Doesn't Boise suffer from the fog inversion that keeps it very hazy?

Flagstaff, AZ. One of the 10 snowiest cities in the lower 48, and yet it's known more for sunshine, and rightly so. I spend some wonderful years there.

Western mountain areas in general, but within that context, inland and southerly will be better.

New England to a lesser extent.

Minneapolis is LESS cloudy than places further East in the winter......but not as much as Denver or places out West. But it's a good Midwest option if you prefer the Midwest.

Denver is definitely a sunny city. I would also recommend Flagstaff too.

Spent a winter in Des Moines, Iowa. When its not snowing, it had brilliant blue skies...and bone chilling cold! But yeah, its not a gray, gloomy place in the winter.
