Like the title says, what are some cities that have snowy winters but are not gray/gloomy during winter? I love snow but I can't stand endless gloomy days during winter. Are there any places like this?
Flagstaff, AZ. One of the 10 snowiest cities in the lower 48, and yet it's known more for sunshine, and rightly so. I spend some wonderful years there.
Western mountain areas in general, but within that context, inland and southerly will be better.
Minneapolis is LESS cloudy than places further East in the winter......but not as much as Denver or places out West. But it's a good Midwest option if you prefer the Midwest.
Spent a winter in Des Moines, Iowa. When its not snowing, it had brilliant blue skies...and bone chilling cold! But yeah, its not a gray, gloomy place in the winter.
