Mountains. The Mountains are so beautiful and breathtaking; especially to somebody not used to such heights and seeing such vast distances away. Here is a music video that I think captures the beauty of this geography;
As for the beach;
+ You're required to buy Flood Insurance in many areas (which is very expensive).
+ You have to worry about hurricanes in many coastal US areas.
+ The Ocean oftentimes has odors
+ Flooding
+ Oil Spills now
...... It's overall just a far riskier and more expensive investment. I would prefer to vacation on a beach than a mountain but living on one is a totally different thing.
beach for sure, I've sometimes fantasied about living in a house boat one of these days. I don't want to live anywhere non coastal, just not for me, but having a mountain backdrop would be cool also.
Mountains. For some reason I associate beach settings with sloppiness and humidity and feeling too lazy to do anything. Lol. But beaches can be beautiful.
