Ideally, do you / would you most prefer to live in:

A big city?
a small city?
a suburb?
a small town?
a rural area?
The country?

You can vote for more than one if more than one location appeals to you for preference.

I choose a small town, rural area, or country myself. So sick of city living its sickening. Lol. Working on making it happen, and hoping it doesn't take me too much longer.

Apparently I prefer a small town really far from any other towns. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if there were a few other small towns nearby, like within an hour or so. Nothing over a couple thousand people, though. I think we're about the right distance from the nearest major city (~5 hours), though an hour closer wouldn't be bad. Much closer than that and you get city people crawling all over the place on the weekends and during hunting season.

I do like to be on the road system, though. Haven't tried it the other way, but I think we have a good compromise of accessibility and "remoteness."

What's the difference between a rural area and "the country," btw? I picked both, but to me they're the same thing.

Away from big cities. To much rat race there.

Kinda subtle in one way, not in another, for me. A rural area would be rows of properties on a quiet country lane with each property being a minimum of a two or three of acres each.

Country, on the other hand, to me, means you're sitting on a very large piece of property, probably at the end of a dirt road, and there may or may not be another house within a half mile or more of your own. Usually in the woods or in the mountains somewhere. I'm sure that everyone has their own, differing definitions though.

I prefer big cities or suburbs because that's primarily what I grew up in. I'd like to own property in a rural area or small town, but I think I'd get too bored living there.

The longer I live in the big city, the more I realize that I've been a city person all my life and not known it.
