100% Irish. Mother's side of the family moved to Pittsburgh from County Cork in the early 1900's while Dad's side of the family moved here in the mid 1800s.

I got my 23andme results a couple months ago. I am 98.5% Ashkenazi Jewish which surprised me a little bit. I am light skinned and blue eyed so I thought there was more mixing in my family than the typical Jewish person. I guess not. The most surprising thing by far was to discover I am 0.2% Asian which they pinpointed to the 1700s.

In terms of ancestry, I'm 3/4 Italian and 1/4 Irish. My Italian forbears immigrated to the United States between the late 1890's and mid-1930's, and my Irish forebears immigrated to the United States between the mid-1840's and the late 1860's. Through my paternal grandmother, I am a third-generation American, and through my maternal grandmother, I am a sixth-generation American.
