Lots of southern Missouri is more English/Welsh/Scotch-Irish

I happen to be of all three of the above along with German and Cherokee Indian. I grew up near the Trail of Tears State Park in Southeast Missouri. Very sad.

For me

Maternal Side
My Mother was Born in Kent - UK, immigrated as a 4 year old in the 1950's
From what I can tell, all her family are from that reigon.

Parental Side
My Grand Mother was born in Bavaria - Germany, She immigrated with her parents to Tasmania.
My Other Great Grand Mother on my Fathers side was born in the Cork Reigon of Ireland.

The Men on my fathers side I can tace all the way back to Convict days, the first memeber of my family to settle in Australia was deported from England for stealing a piece of string.

Both myself and my brother are also married to 1st generation immigrants, seems a bit of a habit for the men in our family.

My grandmother was born in 1930 and is half German and half Italian. Not the best ancestry to have during WWII!

Man, there's a lot going on there. The Canary Islands are very cool, I like Las Palmas more than mainland Spanish cities, they have an "Estacion de Guaguas" (I had to take a picture of it), they have great regional cuisine, I've had one of the best Cuban meals in my life there for 8 Euros, and they have the older Canario men who sit together on the boardwalk on Playa de las Canteras shooting the shyte, just like you would find older Cuban men playing checkers on Calle Ocho in Miami.

Hey, I've got relatives in Hialeah. People ask me "Are they Cuban?" I say "No, they're Italian...they came from New Jersey a long time ago."
