Also, there are some states that list their counties by the first few digits on their plate.
Alabama is one of them along with Idaho and I believe Wyoming as well.
I wish every state in the union listed their counties on their plates. I wonder why this isn't the case?
As mentioned above, Idaho does, but it is in code. 1A, 1B, 2C, mean Ada, Bannock, Canyon. In other words, it is alphabetical with multiple counties with the same first letter listed as 1,2,3, etc. I believe Montana has a similar system. Washington State used to do this (50's through the 80's?) with the first letter of the plate, but discontinued it when the biggest counties started taking up too many letters.
