I think you should give Buffalo another chance. Check out Allentown and Elmwood Village. That's all I am saying. Those are vibrant neighborhoods.

It's been said many times but Chicago is the obvious answer. There are some other good choices being mentioned on this thread but Chicago is in another league.

Philly or Chicago
There are tons of Ex New Yorkers in Philly. It's my hometown so it gets my vote. A very vibrant city. I don't know who said it doesn't feel like a "big city".
Second choice is Chicago I love it definitely the closet thing you'll get to the Big city feeling of NYC.
