Geography wise, Arkansas wins hands-down for me. I love Missouri, but nobody can beat the beauty of the Ouachita National Forest. Not no way, not no how.

Add me to the group that thinks every state has beauty. I could keep myself entertained pretty much anywhere.

Lately I have become a fall foliage junky, which rules out the western states for the most part. I am fascinated by the hills, mountains, and maple trees in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. My home state of Michigan also has some similar qualities, although you have to look a little harder to find it. I have definitely started appreciating my home state more in recent years.

I also drove across Maryland and Pennsylvania recently and thought both of those states had awesome scenery.

If you would have asked me 5 years ago, I would have said that the western states were most stunning. And they still are, if you are talking about dramatic scenery that makes you lose your breath a little. But when it comes to the smaller details such as tree types and fall colors, I like the eastern states the best.

CA is beautiful especially the coastline which is breathtaking...deserts do not appeal much to me after a while. NY is another beautiful state. The entire northeast region is beautiful as a whole with fall colors and easily accessible by car.

Clearly Maryland.
From the mountains, to the Chesapeake, to the ocean, white with foam!

Nebraska. As the saying goes, anyone can love the mountains but it takes soul to love the prairie!

The absurd part is people cutting other people down for them being happy. Some of these people aren't happy where they live because the media doesn't list it on the top 100 spots to see in the USA before they die or because it doesn't have perfect weather. We all have preferences so I know some places I would and would not want to live. So if anyone cuts you down for what you feel is the most beautiful state then that is their problem. Some people also go by stereotypes. Jersey has beautiful beaches but also if no one has been to the Delaware Water Gap, the Appalachian Region in the NW portion of the state, rolling countryside in a lot of the rest of the state, and the Pine Barrens - they are missing out! The majority of the state is not an urbanized wasteland!

This thread is only showing me that eventually I'll have to visit every state. I'm about halfway there.
