NYC is beautiful in the Autumn. I was there last year over Halloween and it was lovely. I'm going again next week and hope to experience some of their autumn first hand shortly. Although I might be a bit early.

Pittsburgh has a great fall season. You can travel to the mountains out in the Laurel highlands, or up north and see great scenery. You can also stay in the city, and since there are so many trees in the city, it makes for a great downtown photo shot.

I liked fall in Denver. I use to drive up in the mountains and see the aspens. Although they only change one color, it is amazing when the mountains start getting snow, and the aspen are changing in the lower elevations. Colorado is beautiful all season long though.

Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri area pretty monochrome in my opinion. Missouri has milder winters in most areas than NE and KS and some areas. NE is less buggy than some areas. I found Virginia to be beautiful in the fall. Curious where others would choose if one wants a mild SUMMER, less buggy, and pretty area.

It's not one of the best, but Nevada (Reno) can be more beautiful in the fall than you'd think, especially with the cold, crisp breezes at its high altitude.

Poteau, OK with its 2,000 ft high hill nearby, along with the Talimena Skyline Drive being nearby, too.
