Oh JUST counties? I thought the entire state of Connecticut was in the NYC MSA.

Easily fixed. just restrict MSA to in state. Or extend it to regular commute zone.

I would point out that the east coast is pretty much one continuous strip city and will never be rivaled in the US.

And that is good as long as we can keep them all east of the Mississippi.

Half of CT, western half but the development into Hartford is stronger than the development into Philly.

Um no... not in our lifetimes. NYC will always be the biggest city in the US at least for the next 50 years.

50 years? I would think longer than that.
If the Wall Street collapses, some freak hurricane happened, and Russia sent some missile that only blows up about a 10 sq mi radius, NYC would still be ahead population wise. I've always wanted to know why NYC is split into boroughs, instead of just being five different cities? Of course I don't oppose boroughs, I just want to know why.
