The closest city to New York's population is L.A. with over 3 million people. NYC has over 8 million

so the answer is None

So either he's woefully clueless or a very pitiful troll.

Cleveland, as of now, has a lot more going for it than Detroit... AT THE MOMENT. I never said anything regarding the size of the city of Detroit vs. Cleveland. I am saying, pretty soon, Cleveland will take off to a level that Detroit is not quite at. Not to say that it won't eventually get there.

LA county isn't LA.

If you want to just add on adjacent areas you can add the rest of Long Island alone on to New York and have 11 million people in 2000 less square miles than LA county.

LA county isn't LA? Oh yes it is. That's like saying Brooklyn isn't part of NY. The County of Los Angeles is tied together by several cohesive units: it's own budget, law enforcement agency, health department, judicial system/jail, county recorder/registrar, district attorney, public works and safety, etc.. If you don't believe me then just look it up yourself.

Far as density, the fact that all of ny is crammed into the size of LA's Griffith Park, just reaffirms that ny is smaller. LA is so big, it can swallow 10 new york cities. It is huge and California can swallow 2 NY states or the entire northeast and still have room.

LA is just bigger and better. Have to come to grips with reality.
