I personally found Columbus, OH to be really bland. I feel like its so generic and just...blah.

2012 lists come out next month and it will most likely be a repeat as its always been because desirability doesn't change just like that.
Dallas was kind of deceptive to me. It looks impressive driving along the freeways with the high five interchange and all the midrise glass buildings strung up alongside the freeways, and approaching downtown the skyline looked gorgeous. When I actually got into donwntown I was extremely underwhelmed. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon with temps in the 70's and there were hardly any people walking around, not very many businesses open, just looked like a 9-5sh workaday financial and government area. There were some up and coming inetresting neighborhoods on the outskirts of downtown (Uptown/Deep Ellum) but they wern't really that special either, no notable trademarks that I could really identify. I thought Sundance Sqaure and the Stockyards over in Fort Worth was more lively and interesting with a lot more identifiable character.

If all you care about is cities then you should stay away from WY. I just got back from a 4 night WY camping trip, and it is a state with many truly beautiful areas. There are some areas that aren't too appealing, but there are also some nice small towns. The scenery was amazing.

I think that because he is saying Phoenix lacks nightclubs , bars , diners and pop culture like punk ,gothic and hip hop.

It mostly country and preppy.

For smaller cities Albany, NY. Not only is it visually boring but the city and skyline is UGLY.

I guess I don't consider those aspects to be "visual", per se.
