Oh, no, Milky! Los Angeles is behind NYC! Get ready to hear Milkytoast say this list is full of ****. Sorry, not trying to ruin the thread. But just be ready and don't be surprised to hear from him soon.

Obviously, this is net international immigration in absolute, not proportionate terms. thus, becuase it dose not take in to acount metro population size, it also dose not give a very good idea of the relative per capita impact of immigration into verious metro areas.

That's because it isn't a list of relative per capita impact of immigration into metro areas. It's a ranking of 100 metro areas by total immigration, 2000-2005.

My point exactly, FutureSchnooks! Lil' old L. A. metro goes up against an area that has to include New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania in order to 'remain' comparably relevant. As if it were a competition, which is what would titillate a simple minded person from NY, much like yourself. This is one of the first points made when I joined this club!

WELL ACUALLY THE AREA OF LOS ANGELES LONG BEACH RIVERSIDE IS ALMOST COMPARABLE TO THE SIZE OF THE NY NJ CT PA AREA. CT AND NJ ARE VERY SMALL STATES THAT WOULD ONLY TAKE UP A VERY SMALL PART OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

northjersey, milk's whole reason for being on this forum is to expose the conspiracy that mayor bloomberg is taking out his checkbook and buying NJ, CT, and PA counties solely for the purpose of being able to say that the metro region around his city is the largest in the country. I mean when you think about it, it must be true! How else could the largest city in the country POSSIBLY have the largest metro region too???
