Very few people have ever entered Newfoundland on the ground, to see a sign like this:

Absolutely. Just the other day I was thinking about how much I hate our welcome signs, and it's funny that this thread should pop up.

They should definitely consider doing some sort of competition where residents can choose a brand new sign. Then again, we did try that with that license plates, and look how well that turned out.

At least your states TRY. New York doesn't even try. Just a standard green road sign in most places.

Yeah, even with the personalization of the Iowa sign, it does look very bland when you just saw the "welcome sculpture" that is Minnesota's welcome and farewell monuments. I don't think Iowa has a farewell sign, only a welcome one.

Look, I love iowa, and I'm sure i'll develop a reputation in short order of giving metro 223 a run for his money as the "DesMoinesiac" of this forum...but I've totally gotta hand it to Minnesota here. They own it!

I didn't know about the "colorful Colorado" sign....that's very funny!

I am proud of our farewell sign. It matches the welcome sign, also.
