I am wondering what are/ will be the best states to move to the way things are now (I am not going back to california) by 2017, which is when I graduate high school. I am currently thinking about going to Portland State University and staying in Portland, going to Georgetown University and move back to phoenix, or going to Rice University and staying in Houston. I use this site called college prowler and according to my personal rankings I put in, Rice came in 3rd, Georgetown came in 87th, and Portland State came in 183rd, the one that was in 1st was some small college named Pacific Union College, which was not on my yes list. So which are the best states to move to based on the way things are going now.
If you're wondering for jobs, the best places have been and always will be the usual suspects. Of the big cities, DC and Boston have the lowest unemployment rates (5.3%) and probably always will. Other cities like Minneapolis, Austin, Richmond (VA) and Salt Lake City would be good options too. All are state capitols/major college towns (typically somewhat recession proof) and have current unemployment rates at or below 6%.
