Looking for an area that doesn't get above 80 or below 25. I don't mind a little snow. Lots of flatwater outdoor activities. Rural and surrounded by forests. Close to a large body of water such as a great lake or ocean. Cheap cost of living. No jobs is ok. Is there such a place?

Souix Falls
Detroit
Chicago

Omaha

Oh.....REAL advice? Lemme think: temperate climate, rural/forested, near large body of water, AND cheap?

The closest thing I could think of is Jacksonville. It's just too hot though. Otherwise, water + cheap do not usually coexist! Maybe somewhere in South America?

I can't take this heat anymore. I don't mind living in a run down rural area with no jobs as long as there is lots of flatwater nearby.

You might look at extreme southwestern areas of North Carolina. Andrews offer easy access to Fontana Lake, Murphy is close to Chatuga Lake or the Lake Toxaway area offers rural living with some conveniences. Temperatures do get above 80 degrees for a couple of weeks of the year but are usually at or below 80 degrees. There is snow but not enough to close roads or create many problems, and temperatures rarely go below 25 in the winter.

Northern California on the coast up to the Olympic Peninsula. It will get cheaper the further North you go (more or less).
