As far as outgoingness, bluntness, pace of life, political opinion etc? I will state my opinion later.

Politically with Northeasterners. Although, some parts of the West have car culture similar to the South.

The best option would be none of the above.

I voted midwesterners. I am thinking that Northeasterners are definitely excluded in this case, and that southerners might only apply if you use the Desert Southwest as a linkage. Canadians, only if you include the Seattle area, and even that is a stretch.

Every time I've stayed in Portland, it reminded me of a midwestern city, because most of the people in the neighborhood were transplants from midwestern cities. Native Portlanders were hard to find.

I think coastal Westerners are pretty different to those in the inland, especially the Rockies. Folk in Denver seem similar to those in the Midwest. Denver seems like the Twin Cities. Phoenix seems like the South, California varies from being like the Northeast, to the Midwest to the South. The PNW is possibly the most Canadian part of the US socially speaking.

Maybe the southwest. It's not like Spokane and Ciudad Juarez have much in common (Yakima, on the other hand )
