I was in Carmel yesterday spending the day at a friends community pool a part of one of many gorgeous and affordable sub divisions in Carmel. Then we went to the nearby hamilton town square. This is actually in Fishers IN the city next door and another city that shows up on these "best" lists. Lovely well layed out neighborhoods, clean streets, newly paved roads, great schools quaint little and big shopping centers. North Indianapolsi really is a nice place to live and raise a family
I could have bought there but im a country boy and found a nice place on a country lake for about what it would have taken to live in Carmel.
I get the impression you haven't heard of very many places outside of New York, though, so that doesn't really surprise me...
Why does everyone assume that just because my freakin' location thing says New York? I've been all along the East Coast but the only Western state I've been to is Colorado...oh and Ohio when I was younger. Sorry that I have never lived outside the East Coast and have no family out that way that I'm in contact with. I bet a lot of people like me don't have a clue where Carmel, IN is.
Most of these cities are suburbs of other places and/or part of MSA's/CSA's in which those amenities contribute to their scores. For me, that makes these narrowly defined lists sort of bogus.
