Which do you like better and why? The Upper South has more seasons, (a little) less humidity, and a diverse landscape. The Deep South has beaches and good seafood but it's as hot as hell!

I personally love the south as a whole...but it is VERY inaccurate to group the area as one cohesive south. Hell even states are very different...Mobile isn't like Huntsville...Roanoke isn't like Norfolk...Atlanta isn't like Savannah...Spartanburg isn't like Hilton Head...and Cullowhee isn't like Elizabeth City.

So that being said...are you more partial to the upland south (VA,KY,TN,NC, parts of SC, and North GA) or the deep south (LA, South GA, MS, etc).

Whatever floats your boat man...if thats the deep south then thats the deep south. The objective of the thread is to find out which one more people like more...not what is and isn't in each category. Maybe it's better to isolate upland south culture vs deep south culture.

And I don't care where you want to put what, just as long as that kid that pops up periodically claiming that Maryland is Dixie doesn't show up!

I grew up in Southwest VA and spent my childhood in SW VA and East Tennessee and some in Western NC. I love those places and consider them home. God Bless the Old Dominion, Rocky Top, and NC all day! Upper South ALLLL the way!
