I am so sick of living in 'dreary' Erie. I've lived in this area since I was 8 and have never liked it but other then living in Louisiana for a year and a half, I've been stuck here for financial reasons. I'm trying to decide a good place to save up to move to. Here is what I'm looking for in a 'perfect' place.
  • Somewhere with quite a few evangelical Christians. I am looking to remarry eventually and everyone around here is either non religious or Catholic.
  • Conservative politically
  • Reasonable rents (Can find a place around $450 for a one bedroom that isn't in the ghetto)
  • Good Public Transportation (Going to have to save my money to relocate, won't have money for a car for a while)
  • Have some call centers (I'm currently working in fast food but am looking to get back to being a CSR)
  • Not bad Erie/Buffalo type winters (Some snow is ok, but not so much that it effects your life)
  • A community college with reasonable out of state tution. (Erie doesn't have one and I'd like to attend one to get my math skills up to snuff )
I'm thinking probably Texas or somewhere down south. I'd appreciate any advice.

$450 for a 1 BR that isn't ghetto? That's pretty low man.

Victoria, Texas. I pay $479 for 1-BR, there is a swimming pool, apartments are modern and well maintained and well managed. Neighborhood is safe, working-class residential, not enough crime to worry about, Walking distance to college, supermarket, hospital.

That's incredible. $479 can't even rent you a trash can in NY lol.
