I've heard that Chicago is the friendlist city in the U.S. Is this true for the most part? If not, what city is?

its not chicago.
to find a friendly city you must find a place where mean americans have not been going and kicking people around. just like dogs, treatem mean, they act mean, no?. you know, ye ol cause and affect thing. so you got to go boldly where no man has gone.
where there is a lot of space, the final frontier.

I think some of the older rust belt cities are friendly. There are friendly people everywhere from what I experienced. Just in some areas people tend to keep to theirselves more, or act pretentous. Cities in the rust belt strangers open up conversation openly on busses, stores, or the street. However, they arn't to friendly to the point of bothersome as in some other locations.

You mean like we want your money friendly : any tourist town.
Would you like to join the church friendly : any Mormon town.
Lets drink and cry in our beer because our baseball team choked
friendly : Chicago ( not friendly at all to do business with)
I have found the friendliest folk at dog parks in any city.
I am not sure why but I swear it's true.

Dancocal: dog people tend to be friendly. I always found that people who are nice to animals tend to be nice to people, and the other way around. People that slap around dogs tend to be jerks to people also.

I found Chicagoans to be very friendly. But Buffalonians are the friendliest people I have met. NYC may be up there, also, though many will not agree with me.
