I am stuck near the middle of Maryland, which is:

About 29 miles to Washington, DC
An entire 31 miles to Pennsylvania
A whopping 35 miles to Virginia, and
An inconceivable 46 miles to Delaware, let alone 59 miles from West Virginia.

Can I play?

7066 KM / 4391 Miles from my home in NZ to the nearest U.S. state border (southern tip of Hawaii's big island)

If we're talking about the border between two U.S. states - 10655 KM / 6621 Miles to the border between California and Arizona @ Yuma.

^_^

I am probably within 100 miles of six other state lines. I live in MA less than 1 mile from RI. CT, NH, ME, VT, and NY are within 100 miles.

Here's how small Rhode Island is: I live about as far as you can get in the state from a state line. And yet I live about 21 miles from the Massachusetts border and 28 miles from the Connecticut border.

From where I was born (Greater Cleveland), PA was about 40 miles (40 minutes or so) away.

Though, in a technical sense, if going by boat or air, while land in Canada is probably 70-80 miles away at least, Canadian waters are closer than that.

From where I went to college (Orlando), GA was about 170 miles or 2.5 hrs. away.

From where I live now (just south of Tampa Bay) the GA line is about 255 miles or 3.5 hrs.

Sorry to keep adding on, but:

Distance to Havana, Cuba: 300 miles

Distance to Cancun, Mexico: 500 miles

In fact, from where I'm currently at, I am perhaps slightly closer to South America than Boston, the way the crow flies.

I live in Suburban Charlotte. As the crow flies, I'm about 5 miles from the SC state line.
