For 10K? I don't think so. You must be able to carry a new business for about 2 years before you can hope to be established enough to make a living wage with it. If you don't have that kind of finances, you will go under.
I have yet to come across a business idea that I could afford to implement that would make decent money. If I think of one, I'm not telling anybody. I don't need the competition. If it is cheap and profitable, though, I am going to franchise it.
For 10K you could almost set up a knife sharpening business if you are good at sharpening knives and only buy used equipment to start. And don't expect to make a living wage until you can get established.
For 10K, you could buy one of those little drive-through coffee kiosks. But I see them all over town, sitting there with no customers. It's hard to imagine that they are making any money. (with a couple of exceptins that seem to be popular, but you could not by those for 10K)
Exactly, or a small trailer. I remember seeing a really cool (one of a kind) set up where a guy was selling Iced Coffee (plain or flavored) out of a small trailer with umbrella in downtown DC. The guy had lines all day long from June through September.
