Thought this would be interesting because depending on where you live, you may never leave your own state...or you may be so close to a border you leave daily.
For me personally being in Mid-Michigan, it's never more than 2-3 times a year and only for vacation. Detroit has all our big city activities such as sports, concerts, or a big airport. So there is no real reason to leave unless its just for fun.

This is a big reason not to travel much out of state. But a lot depends on your family. Many of us have family that lives across sate lines. Also, in rural areas, those things you mention may be a few mles across the border. Example, for me to see an NFL game, I have to travel to either Charlotte or Atlanta.
Consider yourself lucky to be a big city boy.
Though to be fair NJ is less a mile (you can take the subway to another state) and DE is only about 20 miles away. I dont think traveling out of state has the same significance here. If I couted non local states probably 1-3 times a month on average
In the past year work has taken me to CA, OH, CT, MA, PA and NOVA. Vacations/weekend getaways have taken me to Canada, PA, Mexico, MA, MD and VA.
I live in NY and travel all over the state. Probably a couple dozen times I've been out of state in this year. Similar to other years.
Daily. I live in Michigan and work in Ohio. Aside from that, probably a couple of times a year.
