How? I notice you say nothing to spire, most likely being as he lives in Chicago.

I think the problem with people from Chicago is that they still haven't accepted the fact that L.A. might actually be on a higher and more important level than them. On top of that, a few cities in the south are catching up with Chicago. No one is taking anything away from Chicago and saying it's nothing but an ordinary city. We understand you guys "were" the second city, but things have changed.
Was I attacking LA, not at all so I wouldn't go assuming what I think on the topic at hand.

And did you know the term "second city" when used as a nickname for Chicago was created after the Great Chicago Fire devastated the original city and from the ashes was built the new Chicago—the second Chicago.

The only reason I thought angels comments were uncalled for, is because they are. They are meant to fuel the hate we are currently involved in. If the people on this thread from LA (only a select few) would stop making this into a hate thing, then the people from Chicago would have nothing to get defensive about. Anyway in the spirit of unity, I will rep you and hopefully we can all get along and live in peace and harmony.

Meant to fuel the hate? I'm not even from LA. I was correcting a poster on the metro stats, with links to the Census. If that classifies as a rant to you, then oh well. Hell, spire called me an idiot, yet you don't call him out. Take the blinders off son.

Once again I never said you were from LA, which is why I said only a select few right next to it. If you are correcting it without citing any facts and talking in a negative manner then yes I would consider it rant like.

Ah, but I did provide facts (links).

Mind you this is the metro area (MSA, or Metropolitan Statistical Area). In 2000, the Census had Chicago at 9.1 million, but 9.5 million in 2007. That's about 400,000 in seven years. Tell me how Chicago's metro will gain another 500,000 in just two years.
Someone doesn't know the difference between a CSA and CBSA.

Wasn't addressing the nickname "second city", I'm talking second largest city which some people from Chicago can't seem to let go of.

Oh really? Let's see here, a CBSA: Core based statistical area - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term "CBSA" refers to both metropolitan statistical areas and newly-created micropolitan areas collectively.

Now, Chicago's MSA is at 9.5 million now, while its CSA is at 9.7 million.

Then in that case you are indeed 100% correct.
