Hmmm. I confess I misread the question. It must have been past my bedtime. I was thinking more along the lines of it asking what the city or state was like not just what the locals were doing. So I have to kind of broaden my answer a bit.

I love looking at pictures of other places. I love hearing descriptions of other places. It sometimes makes me want to visit those places. But I try not to take too seriously what people say about what the people are up to or how they may behave in any given city or state. They can't all behave in one way. I think they sometimes get it wrong about people in my city so they could be wrong about others. Anyway, I would rather come for a visit and see for myself.

If I don't care for the people, there is always the beautiful scenery to enjoy.

For a time, I would lurk the Arizona and Illinois forums. It's pretty fascinating what the different priorities and common topics other areas usually have. For Arizona, it was usually something about real estate and weather. Illinois was more about big city topics like suburban comparisons, traffic, politics, etc.

Sometimes I will look at the California and New York forums. Only because I love California and New York.

Most of my time is spent in the local Dallas forum, over 80% of my posts are made there. I also read and occasionally post in the City-vs-City, General U.S., Texas, and Fort Worth forums. I sometimes check out others like San Francisco-Oakland and Detroit, but don't post in them.
