I cannot say much about Maine but I guess it must be I-95 both because it passes through Portland and is the sole interstate in the state, lol.

Then... my favorite trails are

NH: I-95
MA: I-90
RI: I-95
CT: I-91
NY: I-90 tie with I-87 (aka entire Thruway)
NJ: Turnpike
PA: I-76 (together with I-376) (aka Turnpike)
MD: I-70 tie with I-95 because of Baltimore and close to DC
VA: I-95 and I-495, although I-81 is naturally more beautiful, but no signs of urban life nearby
NC: I-85
SC: I-26 (?) (Haven't been in the interstate west of I-5 but I have taken both I-85 and I-95 and especially I-95 are horridly boring, so I guess passing through Columbia and Charleston makes it better than I-95 by a landslide)
GA: I-75
FL: I-95 with I-4 very close

What are your favorite east coast interstate trails?

Isn't "Interstate Trail" and oxymoron?

I was hoping we'd discuss alternatives to the Appalachian Trail - but I'm sure it would win the prize for favorite.
