Hey guys, so Im wanting to move to a new city. I like to move around to new places and right now I'm back home in Ohio (which totally sucks) making some money for my next move.
What I want to know is what are some good cities for gay people to live in,>>> Keep in mind, I have already lived in LA and Chicago, and didnt like them, so other cities would be awesome.
Im not really flamboyant and I don't like gay clubs or anything, so im not looking for like cities with a raging gay area. However, I am out so I want a city where I dont need to lie to people in my neighborhood or at my job and I dont want to feel like i might get jumped.

What kind of city are you looking for? Major city, medium sized, small city? What do you like to do for activities or recreation? Is climate important to you? The US has evolved a lot since the 90's that there is a city in pretty much any state where gay people can live comfortably. I've lived in the Seattle, suburbs of Boston, Santa Fe, and now Albuquerque and being gay has never been a problem for me in any of those places.
I wouldn't say that. Many other cities are equally gay-friendly -- if not more so, if you take into account the relative ease of moving and settling there. These days it's extremely difficult for anyone who isn't a highly-paid techie to settle here in SF. I myself moved here 4 years ago when rents were about HALF what they are now.
I'd name Portland (OR), Seattle, Denver, Austin, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and Boston as cities that are just as gay-friendly as SF is.
The Advocate recently published a very silly list of the "20 gayest cities" in the U.S. -- their criteria are highly questionable, but it's worth a look anyway (but I refuse to believe that Colorado Springs is gayer than SF -- I mean, really?!).
I say figure out what you want out of a city first, then look at LGBT friendly cities that may offer that. There's defiantly more options than you think.
Im pretty open to the size and type of city and climate.... the only thing with climate is that i cant handle EXTREMES. Like Seattle couldnt do because i hear its cloudy almost 90% of the year, and a city like Phenoix I couldnt do because its like desert all year. but im down for winters, summers, humidity, anything really.
and Slavon, you sound like an idiot... but then again, you are from Florida, so i guess its not your fault.
and as for San Fran, yeah I hear a lot of peole say its too much there now. Its just gotten so crowded and the tech industry is so big that to move there you need to have a good job already set up
Just look at a map of the United States and make your pick. most cities are good for gays.
Ill just throw out D.C our the Maryland burbs' because its a cool city and you have the freedom to get married in Maryland if that's something you plan on doing in the near future. Minneapolis is a good option if DC is too expensive for you, but the weather is extreme just look at a weather forecast.... https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&....1.TMgUEOT3oQo

Check out Denver. Lots of sunny days, four seasons, big enough city to keep you entertained but not huge like LA, Chicago, or NY and it has excellent access to recreation and the outdoors. There's also a very large gay community there but not at the extreme fringe of it either. Denver also is one of the most physically fit cities in the US with a good athletic mindset among many (and there are a lot of nice looking guys up there). If you're looking for that Goldilochs kind of city that isn't too extreme on climate or size then I'd say Denver is a good match.

Have you checked out Fort Worth?
VERY affordable big city with an awesome arts scene to boot, no pun intended. It has some gay bars & clubs, but not nearly as many as its bigger, sassier, glitzier sister Dallas just 30 miles down the road.
I think it would fit your criteria perfectly.
Fort Worth has culture & a genuine down to Earth vibe, something Dallas lacks.
hey Metro Matt. So i have been looking into Texas a little... Fort Worth seems like it could be cool.... but since its Texas wont it be filled with tons of conservatives and right winged crazy religious people? it seems like Texas (aside from Austin) would be extremely intolerant
