It's Call-o-RAD-o.
I peronally say it two ways. Colo-Rod-o and Colo-RA-do (with a short "a" that sounds like Raw). When people say it with the long A that sounds like "Mad", it doesn't sound the way that I'm use to hearing it.

I just got back from living in New York for about 1.5 years, and I heard Colo-RAD-o a lot of the time, but that's just my experience.

Correction (hours later): I hear the short A "rah" sound from the natives, not the long A.

Can't let that one slide.
