So... you do agree with me? Your argument is not opposed to mine. If I-4 is the great divider, then most of the population in Florida is not southern at this point.
Ohmigod, ever have one of those days? Not sure how I read what you said but yes I do agree with you..

Geographically maybe half the state is southern culture, southern vibe. Population wise and what most visitors experience I think is it's own thing. Southern Floridians in North Florida often say, the closest way to get to the north, is to go south.
but you all have to remember, the West is more than just the West Coast, there is also Montana,Wyoming,New Mexico,Colorado,Arizona, and Idaho, all pretty laid back mostly rural states.
Overall the West. I have lived and worked in both, the South is very traditional. In the larger cities (bot S & W) you aren't going to see much of a difference but overall, the West is much more laid back and it's really that close.
From my experience in California, San Diego is pretty laid-back. Even the downtown area doesn't seem very "rat race" to me. And there are some areas (like Coronado) that are like paradise on earth. Relaxed, beautiful, scenic...can calm me down anytime.
