This is another prime example of one of those dumb white people questions again. I think they do this just to annoy blacks, frikkin ignorant a-holes.
I'm telling you, brother...it's CRAZY!!! They are all over City-Data, doing stuff like popping up in threads that ask what cities and areas are best for black professionals, saying that it's "racist" for black people to ask that, and even trying to tell us which cities and areas are and are not best for blacks, as if our own criteria isn't good enough for us and as if we have to be told by them what's best for us.
That's stereotyping. Richard Sherman is an educated man who went to Stanford who has a 4.1 GPA. He's not going to sound like Marshawn Lynch, who still lives in the same neighborhood he grew up in around people who spoke similar to him.

LOL, exactly! Everybody knows that! You can't post videos of rappers or other people who spent their entire lives in the hood and then post a video of a guy speaking at a PRESS CONFERNCE who graduated from one of the top schools in the country with a 4.1 and ask why they don't have the same accent.

more specifically, Marshawn Lynch sounds very Northern Californian black, like the rapper E40. my relatives who grew up in the bay area sound like this to varying degrees.
I'm sorry just throwing this out there. Couple of people have said in the past that blacks from Texas, particularly Houston, and Georgia sound alike. From looking at these two videos and hearing the speech that I am accustomed to from Houston and Texas as a whole, I firmly stand by my thoughts that they do not sound anything alike. Carry on.

You are equating his excessive use of the word y'all as being southern. I don't know you but your responses throughout this thread tells me that your personal contact with African Americans may have been somewhat limited. You may have gone to school with African Americans but it is apparent that (1) you didn't interact with many of them or (2) you have an auditory agnosia disorder. I'm willing to bet you couldn't distinguish a Bahamian from a Jamaican accent.

Well, that's because the South is a HUGE region, which means there are different TYPES of Southern accents, even within each Southern state; yet another fact that proves how ignorant, wrong, delusional, and obsessed with trying to analyze black people so he can paint us all with the same brush ColdAilment is.

Atlantans definitely have their own distinct dialect, but I can still see the language relation they have with most southern blacks, including Houstonians. I heard nothing uniquely Georgian in Cam Newton's voice. He sounds like he could be from just about anywhere down south.
