Never surprised by Philly getting few votes in any thread unless they are about trash or crime...

But on the whole I would think as good a case in this topic could be made for Philly. PA is really a tale of two different states. the SE and most of rest. Over simplifying the state is very developed NE corridor in the SE corner and more appalachian (think more like WV for a good chunk of the remainder) that over simplifies it but isn't that far from the truth

I believe even with two large cities PA may actually have the largest rural designated population of all states - or it did until recently I believe

Some suburbs in the metro area are more Republican than average upstate NY.

Problem with Florida is that depending on your definition of the state, either Jacksonville or Miami is the outlier.

I voted Chicago. I'm surprised Atlanta isn't on here though as that would have totally gotten my vote.

I ay New York. My argument is that it's the difference of a big, populated, dense city then farms and mountains north upstate, with some smaller cities, small towns, and straight up rural areas. Can the same be said for many areas of the country? Sure, except since New York City is the densest (large city), most populated, most popular city in the country, it has an edge over the others and the difference between city/metro and upstate areas is greater IMO.

Chicago and Illinois stick out to me. The rest of Illinois is different politically, and just about everyway from the city of Chicago.

Any state that is predominantly White but its largest city is predominantly Black. Those are the least similar.

And Philadelphia is ratchet ghetto as hell. They are almost as bad as Detroit. So Philly is not exactly culturally sophisticated either.
