These five cities are arguably the hottest cities in the country right now and possibly the best and most exciting places to live if you are a twentysomething. For those who can't move to Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, or Boston, do you envy those who do live there? What is keeping you from moving to one of the above cities?

Seems like 5 random cities to me. I have noticed you list these 5 a lot in your posts. Why? Do you want to live in one?

The 5 hottest cities in this country are NY, Dallas, LA, DC and Houston. This is a fact by growth patterns.

They're not so random, but its definitely trendy for a certain subset of people.

"Exciting" is definitely not a word that comes to mind when I think of Portland and Seattle. Austin seems like a big college town so I guess that can be "exciting" for 20-somethings.

If I had the option right now I would rather live somewhere else besides the SF Bay Area and none of these other cities interest me at all, except for maybe Boston a little.

Not jealous for a minute. Not a minute. I don't ever think about those cities, just as people who live in those cities, don't think about mine.

Why should I be? If I wanted to live there, I would live there. I don't, so I don't.

No, the thought has never crossed my mind.

What is keeping me from moving to one of those cities? Outside of Portland a lack of interest.
