They are the Plain states....referring to geographic descriptions. It is more or less called the greater plains area. Nobody is saying that they are great in the sense that you took it.

Well, that's true, but if you've ever been there, you know you are on the Great Plains! Denver may be a mile high, but it's high plans, not mountains. RE: sports team names, here in the Twin Cities our NBA team is called the "Timberwolves". But outside the zoos, you won't find one of those creatures within 150 miles of here!

I'd pick Dallas but it is a mixture of Southern and Plains.

my choice would be between Amarillo and Dallas,,,,maybe just maybe Tulsa as a 3rd choice.
