Disagree. I lived in NYC for a few years and felt the girls had this "there's better guys out there" mentality. The girls that you are in constant touch with are in constant touch with LOTS of other guys. And the other guys are rich businessmen, successful artists, etc.

First of all, what age ranges are they using to say there are more females, as usually there is an excess of females in the near-retirement ages and above, and a deficit of females in the "prime" relationship ages. Even if there are an equal number of men and women at a certain age range (ie 25-29) it is meaningless, as there is *nowhere* in the US where never-married women outnumber never-married men at any age under near-retirement age. The only thing you can do is stay away from the West Coast and stay away from oil towns, etc.

Let's not forget, this type of list isn't worth much unless the cost of living is also factored in somehow.

My list, off the top of my head, all things considered:

Los Angeles
Austin
Miami
Charleston
San Francisco

seattle is one of the worst places for single guys, the ridiculous fact that chicago is behind it makes this list worthless, on top of the fact that there is no nyc

Denver is atrocious for single men. It's called Menver for a reason.

I'll say it again: Austin SUCKS for single guys. And I've never been to Denver but the girls I've met from there have been friendly.

For single men who never intend on being a relationship, it's Los Angeles.

Also, SF is a majority male (50.7% according to city data). So, for straight men people it is not exactly the best place to live. Compare that to Boston, which is 52.1% female, NYC, which is 52.5% female, or DC, which is 52.8% female.
